RH134 Ch 10: Fix and Validate a Kickstart File

WebAsha is adding a third lab server, serverc, built unattended with kickstart. The draft file from the previous admin does not even validate. Fix it and complete it to the build sheet before it goes on the install server.

Tasks

1. Make /root/ks/serverc.ks pass ksvalidator -v RHEL10 without errors.
2. Set the time zone to Asia/Kolkata.
3. Configure static networking on eth1: IP 172.25.250.20, netmask 255.255.255.0, gateway 172.25.250.254, name server 172.25.250.254, host name serverc.lab.example.com.
4. Install the minimal-environment environment group plus the packages vim-enhanced and chrony.
5. Replace the plain-text root password with an encrypted (SHA-512) one for redhat.
6. Add a %post script that writes Provisioned by WebAsha to /etc/motd.
