CCNA: Trunks & Inter-VLAN Routing

VLANs 10 and 20 span two switches, and one router must route between them over a single link (router-on-a-stick).

Tasks

  1. On both switches make the SW1–SW2 link (Gi0/2) an 802.1Q trunk allowing only VLANs 10 and 20.
  2. On SW1 make Gi0/1 (to R1) a trunk too.
  3. On R1 bring up Gi0/0 and create subinterfaces: Gi0/0.10 = VLAN 10, 192.168.10.1/24; Gi0/0.20 = VLAN 20, 192.168.20.1/24.
  4. PC1 (VLAN 10, 192.168.10.10) must ping PC2 (VLAN 20, 192.168.20.10).
