CCNA: DHCP Server, Relay & Troubleshooting
R2 is the central DHCP server. PCs in the branch LAN behind R1 can't get addresses — set up the pool and the relay, then find the mistake.
Tasks
- On R2 exclude 192.168.1.1–192.168.1.9 from DHCP.
- On R2 create pool BRANCH for 192.168.1.0/24 with default router 192.168.1.1 and DNS 8.8.8.8.
- R1 must relay DHCP from its LAN (Gi0/1) to R2 (10.0.12.2).
- PC1 still fails: R2 has no route back to the branch LAN. Add a static route on R2 to 192.168.1.0/24 via R1.
- Run ip dhcp on PC1. It must get 192.168.1.10; check show ip dhcp binding on R2.
